Branch Routing provides an easy way to connect branch offices to the main office, via secure VPN.
An ideal way of linking shops/retail, home offices and temporary sites (such as in the construction industry), branch routing provides secure connectivity back to the main office that is easily provisioned.
Remote workers are shipped the Aerohive BR100 which automatically sets itself up when it is plugged in to a network. Administrators simply configure the HiveManager (configurator) either in the cloud or in their head office and await for remote users to plug in their branch router(s).
The Aerohive BR100 branch router supports:
- Up to eight Service Set Identifiers (SSIDs) for wireless deployments
- 16 distinct virtual LANs (VLANs) shared across wired and wireless interfaces
- Authentication such as 802.1X, captive web portal, and Aerohive Private Pre-Shared Key to distinguish users
- Four 10/100 Ethernet ports for fixed printers, PCs etc
The Aerohive BR100 branch router can automatically divert general internet traffic through a cloud-based web security
service, rather than send everything back through the corporate network, vastly reducing bandwidth costs and congestion.
A USB port on the BR100 branch router allows a 3G dongle to be attached to provide wireless mobile connectivity (3G, Vodafone etc) providing an alternative to fixed broadband connection for mobile workers on the move. This allows secure VPN access for workers on the road, or from temporary sites such as in construction, or from very remote sites where fixed line access simply is not possible.
Self-configuring branch routers allow secure connection for remote workers that can easily be controlled and configured by a central administrator to keep corporate networks safe yet provide maximum access to authorized personnel.
